This year’s brush with fire brought gratitude to the minds of Canyon Country residents once again – for the bravery of firefighters and others that we saw a lot of: helicopter pilots. But there is another smokin’ hot humanitarian that gets overlooked, although it offers much-needed assistance every time we experience fire threats. It is Robinson Ranch Golf Course.

For two straight days, firefighting helicopters swooped down to the lake at Robinson Ranch to draw water and drop it on the fire. It is a sacrifice for the course, and the fire department has an open invitation to use the water.

“As long as we have it there and it will help with the fires, go ahead and take it,” says General Manager Rick Smith. “Saturday was the day that really impacted us due to all the freeways being closed. We had over 250 players booked for Saturday and only had 70 players. Also, we had a wedding that day that actually had to wait until Sunday.”
